Add Some Bling to Your Search Engine Listings

I am not a expert in the technical side of marketing by any stretch of imagination, but I don’t let that stop me from testing out different marketing strategies. The latest thing I have been messing around with is learning how to add some bling to your search engine listings.

By accident, I discovered a nifty little way to spice up your listings on Google. You see what happened is after installing a testimonials plug-in on my blog that allows you to add a one through five star rating I began seeing the actual stars show up in my search results.

You can see an example of how this looks below:

There is a couple easy ways to accomplish this type search result listings for your personal blog.

The first way to get this type of listing for your blog is by installing a simple testimonials plug-in on your blog. Watch the video below to see exactly how to do this…

The second way is a bit more complicated but has much more options. This involves installing a product/business review plug-in. It works much in the same way as the first plug-in I showed you, except for the reviews will be unique to each individual page instead of a testimonial that shows up on every page of your blog. If you like more options and don’t mind tinkering around a bit then watch the video below…

There you go! You are on your way to blinging out your search engine results for increased click trough rates on your blog’s search results. Please leave your commentary below and any questions you may have so I can better help everyone in the future.

I really like how it the post stands out on the search engines and I can really see how it can help in the search results. I’ll pass this on to our mastermind team and see if they want to test it on our testing site to see if helps conversion rates. I don’t think it would hurt the description density that much. If I see that it actually helps on my site I’m all for it. Thanks for passing it on my friend.

Preston – this is very interesting. I’ve seen a few search results with the gold stars like that and it definitely does catch your attention. I haven’t implemented this yet on my blog but am considering it.

Thanks!

Very cool Preston – I’m not techie either so I’m still a little fuzzy on what I need to do, but I’m definitely going to give this a try. And I have a couple of good friends who can help me out with those first couple of testimonials. Thanks!

Hi Preston,

Bling is good for our SEO listings! I like how the stars are displayed on Google because of the testimonial plug in. Thanks for including the video on how to install this plug in. Seems simple enough for a non techie person like me. :)

Cool little plugin! I discovered something similar a while back and it certainly does add “bling”. Really makes your stuff stand out on the page. I like your way, it’s a lot easier than what I was doing!
